New Cy-Fi wireless stereo speaker for sporting enthusiasts annouced
Cy-Fi has announced what the company claims as the first wireless sports speaker for the outdoor enthusiast. The new Cy-Fi comes in two models - one as an add-on accessory to Apple’s iPod or as a Bluetooth stereo speaker for enabled devices such as cell phones and MP3 players.
The new Cy-Fi can easily be attached to any bike or backpack for mobile users and also comes with a handy desk stand for convenient charging. Battery life varies slightly for the different models with the iPod version getting 6 hours and its Bluetooth brother coming in slightly below at 5.5 hours. The Cy-Fi speaker will not weigh you down with its weight coming in at less than 4 ounces.
Cy-Fi was invented by Los Angeles entrepreneur and cycling enthusiast Jeff Lotman, who wanted to find a safer way to bike with his iPod. “Music makes biking more fun,” he says. “It enhances the experience and motivates you to push harder.” Jeff determined that the solution was a small, wireless speaker that he could mount to his bike frame.
Available now at bike stores and speciality retail shops, the Cy-Fi wireless speaker will be offered online starting September 22 for US$179.95.
