Headset innovator GN Netcom has announced a new Bluetooth headset, the Jabra BT530, that features the latest in noise cancellation technology. The new headset is the company’s first device offering its new Noise Blackout system, which filters and reduces ambient noise to offer better voice quality.

Described by GN Netcom’s Anne Rasmussen, VP of its mobile division, “Our Noise Blackout technology is a completely new and proprietary technology that not only allows crystal clear sound but eliminates the ‘tinny’ sound that many noise cancellation headsets are plagued with.” The new Noise Blackout technology uses dual microphones to filter background noise and reduce background ambient noise without distorting the headset user’s voice.

Other features of the new Jabra BT530 include:

  • Bluetooth v2.0+EDR and eSCO
  • Auto-pairing
  • A2DP stereo
  • DSP technology
  • Audio acoustic shock prevention
  • Multi-use functionality
  • Micro USB connectivity
  • 8 ear gels, 1 ear hook

The 9.9g (.35oz) Jabra BT530 offers up to 5.5 hours of talk time or 10 days (240 hours) of standby and will be available starting in September for US$99.99.
