Motorola to sell NextLink’s Invisio Q7 Bluetooth headset

q7_1The folks over at NextLink have revealed that its has entered a licensing agreement with handset giant Motorola. Motorola will sell the bone conduction technology Invisio Q7 Bluetooth headset, but will market it under its own brand name. The Invisio Q7 headset has since been pulled from NextLink’s web page.

NextLink’s cutting edge bone conduction technology, used on the Invisio Q7, lets the user’s jawbone do the talking. Vibrations from the jawbone are transmitted to the ear canal where the headset picks it up with the patented bone conduction microphone. Since the speech signal is not passed via the air from mouth to the headset, as in a other headsets, ambient noise is effectively eliminated. NextLinks’s competitor Aliph has used similar technology for its very successful Jawbone Bluetooth headset.

Pricing and availability have not been announced.
