Weighing less than an ounce, the lightweight Explorer 360 combines multiple controls in one multifunction button, including on/off and send/end. With the included ear loop for stability, the 360 can be worn on either ear.

The Plantronics Explorer 360 Bluetooth headset’s battery delivers up to 7 hours of talk time or 8 days of standby time and can be charged with the included microUSB adaptor. MSRP for the headset is around US$70, but it can be found online for less.

eq7Motorola has introduced a new dual function Bluetooth device, the EQ7 Wi-Fi speakerphone. The portable speaker connects easily to any Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, MP3 player or PC to handle calls or stream music wirelessly.

The EQ7 is a hi-fidelity stereo speaker, created by audio giant JBL, that delivers crisp and clear audio right to your desktop. The EQ7 features a built-in microphone that helps reduce background noise and offers echo cancellation technology, integrated controls, a built-in 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth A2DP and AVRCP support, and is powered by either four AA batteries or an AC adapter.

The Motorola EQ7 Bluetooth stereo speaker is just a bit shy of weighing 1lb (440g) and measures in at 6.6″x 6.1″x1.6″ (169mmx154mmx42mm). The speakerphone will land in stores this summer.

Plantronics Voyager 855 Bluetooth stereo headset review

The slim and slick looking Voyager 855 is a device that not only serves as a mono Bluetooth headset, it also doubles as Bluetooth stereo (A2DP) headphones. When attached with the 855’s second earpiece, users are able to listen to music from any A2DP compatible device.

Ricky gives the Voyager a “Recommended” rating due to its stellar audio quality and comfortable fit. The second earpiece sizing held the 855 back from getting a Highly Recommended rating.

Motorola launches new website to combat Bluetooth confusion

moto_logoA new reference site launched by Motorola in the UK will allow Bluetooth users to check their devices for compatibility and help with a “plain English” guide to the pairing up of devices.

The website lets you do a compatibility search from either your mobile device or with the designated accessory. According to the manufacturer, “Motorola’s Bluetooth headsets are designed to be compatible with over 200 Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones from more than 15 manufacturers, including Nokia, Sony Ericsson, LG and Samsung, as well as Motorola devices.”

“The intention is to provide some much needed clarity to the market by creating the ultimate Bluetooth compatibility reference point,” said Steve Gaskell, General Manager, Accessories, Motorola EMEAI. “The site offers consumers, our partners and retail staff alike a simple, trustworthy way of finding out which products are compatible and in turn how to successfully pair them.
